You ain't so bad, Balboa!

Its set, my Thanksgiving Menu that is.  Every year I do all the cooking for my family and this year is no different.  Cooking for 20+ screaming Yats/Coonasses (and one Yankee) is no small task, I assure you.  This is, however, one of my favorite days of the year and I really love cooking all of this stuff.  Problem always is that I sample so much as I cook that the last thing I want to do when I’m done is eat.  When my family is eating I start drinking (the same bottle of wine every year).  So, the menu is set, now I need to start working on the rest of the wines, at least the ones I’m willing to share with them.

Here’s what I’m doing, if anyone has any questions, want a recipe, etc just leave a comment or shoot me an email.

Meats:

Applewood Big Green Egg Smoked Turkey

Abita Root Beer Glazed Ham

Condiments:

Turkey Giblet Gravy

Fresh Cranberry Chutney

Sides and Stuff:

Savory Goat Cheese and Pumpkin Soup

Roasted Spicy Pumpkin Muffins

Sweet Corn Soufflé

Savory Sweet Potato and Roasted Pecan Pie

Fennel, Italian Sausage, and Cornbread Stuffing

Soul-Warming, Coonass Dirty Rice

Sweet Stuff:

Spiced Pumpkin Pie with Bourbon Praline Sauce

Preserved Lemon Cheesecake topped with homemade Lemoncello Semifreddo and Basil Syrup

Wow, that’s quite a feast! Any chance you could pass along the goat cheese and pumpkin soup recipe? Also, is your fennel and Italian sausage stuffing recipe from F&W Mag?
