So we kind of sat on our hands for this one, trying to figure out how best to use the expertise of the Italian wine guru himself, Antonio Molesini for our first post Mardi Gras WineSense Wednesday.  Normally we roll out Antonio on special occasions when we want to show some cream of the crop type wines, the real expensive ones, you know.  Problem is, no one’s really buying very expensive wine right now.  Kind of kills that buzz around Antonio.  Then, while watching the evening news one night and hearing the word “stimulus package” drone on and on (while finishing off a glass of an amazing “under the radar” Italian Pinot Noir) it hit me: there are all these rare and hard to find, yet affordable Italian wines that “stimulate” both the palate and the pocketbook so why not feature a tasting on a collection of them?  I made a call to Antonio, we sat down and came up with a knock-out selection of wines from Italy that will satisfy your inner wine geek as much as it will your inner value hound.

So, join me and Antonio as we taste you through a line-up of 8 Italian wines sure to stimulate*!  Space is limited, and at this price for 8 wines (!?!?! – I’m obviously not very good at math) we can’t imagine seats will last long (heck, the sheer showmanship of Antonio is worth a sawbuck and a half).
